At ReBalance of Radiance Aesthetics & Wellness of NYC we use the latest revolutionary, permanent Laser Tattoo Removal. Our latest Q-Switched ND: Yag laser successfully eliminate tattoos of different colored ink. It takes several weeks for your immune system to clear shattered ink particles from your body.
What Is Laser Tattoo Removal?
With the overwhelming popularity of tattoos over the last ten years, the market for effective removal has exploded.
Do you have a tattoo that you want to remove? Do you feel that your tattoo become unattractive, no longer expresses you, or is associated with painful memories? Then we could offer a solution for you.
Our modern laser tattoo removal allows you to remove nearly any tattoo completely, without surgery and without a scar.
How Does It Work?
During laser tattoo removal, an ultra short pulse of laser light is directed at the tattooed area of the skin.
Laser light passes the outer layer of the skin and directly targets the tattoo ink. Ink particles of the tattoo selectively absorb the laser energy which heats them up and shatter into smaller ink particles.
The body’s immune system works diligently for the following several weeks to flush away the shattered ink particles and causes fading of the tattoo colors.
Latest laser technology to successfully eliminate tattoos of different colored ink
After several treatments the skin is left ink free. Our practice utilizes the latest Q-Switched ND: Yag laser technology to successfully eliminate tattoos of different colored ink.
Before procedure you shouldn’t tan and avoid sun exposure for a minimum of 4 weeks to avoid risk of hypo/hyper pigmentation (darkening or lightening of the skin). Avoid using products that might contain retinol, benzoyl peroxide, tretinoin, salicylic acid and stringent.
You would need to clean shave the area treated of all hair.
What Do Treatments Feel Like?
Laser tattoo treatment discomforts vary from patient to patient; you might feel a warm sensation and a mild sting, similar to a rubber band snapping. If you are concerned with the discomfort during tattoo laser treatments, please let us know so we may administer a topical or local anesthesia and air cooling to alleviate your pain and discomfort.
How Many Treatments Do I Need?
The number and frequency of treatments will be different depending on your tattoo type, ink colors, the skin type being treated and your individual immune system. It takes several weeks for your immune system to clear shattered ink particles from your body.
This means you should be scheduling your sessions every 6–8 weeks. Other factors such as various medical conditions and prescribed medication might also affect the number of treatments required. The timing might vary in each individual, but these are the average recommendations.
Is Laser Tattoo Removal Safe For Me?
There are certain contraindications for laser tattoo removal that you should be aware of and must notify your technician if you have them. If you are taking medications that cause photosensitivity, have a medical condition causing you to be more photosensitive, have viral or bacterial infections, or are pregnant, then you should make sure your technician is aware of this. This treatment might also not be safe for people with Fitzpatrick Skin Type IV–VI. Laser tattoo removal should not be performed if you have the following medical conditions:
- Cellulitis (MRSA)
- Poorly controlled Diabetes Mellitus
- Bleeding disorders
- Lichen Planus
- History of Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation
- Collagen Vascular Diseases
- Multiple Sclerosis
What Happens After The Treatment?
Immediately after the laser tattoo removal, the treated area might appear red or crusty white and swollen. This is an expected outcome and will fade away and heal in 5-7 days. Your treated tattoo might become darker before it starts fading away. Your treated area will be covered by the dressing after the treatment for several days. We will provide you with detailed instructions how to properly change dressing and care of the treated area.
Please follow given instructions carefully. Keep the area dry and clean, and avoid applying ice or heat directly over the area. You might feel itching and scabbing at the treated area which might last 7-10 days. To avoid scarring and infection, do not pick or scratch the treated area.
