Replenish your Skin and Looks with Juvederm

Injectables & Dermal Fillers

The fine lines that gather around the eyes and mouth as time and the environment take their toll are a threat to those who care for their looks.

Your skin loses its ability to retain moisture as it ages and you have to start looking at ways to keep the skin supple and soft.

Juvederm gives your skin and your looks another chance. It’s an injectable facial filler which is used to soften those deep folds and reduce wrinkles.

Five FDA-Approved Forms of Juvederm

Juvederm’s main purpose is to remove nasolabial folds – those creases of skin running from the corners of the nose to the corners of the mouth. Juvéderm is used by practitioners for this very purpose. It consists essentially of hyaluronic acid and was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in June 2006. In fact, since receiving approval for the original formula in 2006, today the types of Juvederm products has grown so that we now have 5 FDA-approved forms:

Juvederm Ultra – It is hyaluronic acid dermal filler injected into the skin to smooth fine lines, facial folds, and wrinkles. According to the FDA, it is the only filler which can remain effective up to a year. The manufacturing process for Juvederm Ultra is known as Hylacross technology, resulting in a smooth consistency viscous formula with 9% hyaluronic acid cross-linking. Hylacross technology has meant Juvederm being the 1st and only smooth-consistency gel of its kind.

Other forms are Juvederm Ultra Plus, Juvederm Ultra XC, Juvederm Ultra Plus XC and Juvederm Voluma XC.

These are the latest product to receive FDA approval and are specifically useful for the volume loss in the cheeks which makes you appear gaunt. The filler is injected into the dermis in three areas of the cheek – the apex, apple, and hollow. The best part of these fillers is that the excellent results can last for up to 2 years. These fillers are for people older than 21 years of age.

Perhaps, the fact that all hyaluronic acid facial filler products are absorbed by the body within 6 to 9 months is looked upon as a disadvantage because by this time the patient will be required to undergo repeat injections – that’s if they want to maintain the younger look they’ve grown accustomed to.

Hyaluronic Acid Binds with Collagen

Juvéderm works well for cosmetic applications because the hyaluronic acid is able to absorb as much as 1,000 times its own weight in water. This means that new volume is added below the surface of sagging skin. It plumps the skin to bring back a glowing, younger look, and older, tired, faded looking faces take on a fresher, youthful appearance simply because hyaluronic acid binds with collagen, which supports human facial skin.

Pros of using Juvederm

It is provides relief from the effects of aging without you having to go under the knife. You don’t have to endure the expense and discomfort of cosmetic surgery and you’re back to being on the go again within 36 hours. Then again, slight redness or mild bruising may well appear at the injection site following treatment, but this won’t last beyond a week.

Cons of Juvederm

As mentioned already, Juvederm isn’t a permanent fix towards a youthful appearance. Juvederm can provide you with a younger look for up to about 12-18 months and would need a follow up mainatainence. Juvederm is mostly priced by the syringe. Filling out the nasolabial folds will in all likelihood take 2 syringes, with one syringe being in the region of $500 to $600, with the thicker versions such as Juvederm Ultra Plus costing slightly more.

Fed up with wrinkles that make you look angry, anxious and older than your years? With Juvederm, the face you show the world doesn’t have to show your age, and with this filler, it will be like giving your skin a new complexion.
